IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS  
WARNING: When using an electrical appliance, to reduce the risk  
of fire, electrical shock or injury the following basic safety  
precautions should always be followed:  
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR VACUUM  
1. Do not leave the appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug the unit from  
outlet when not in use and/or before servicing.  
2. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.  
3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by  
or near children.  
4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended  
attachments.  
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. Do not use the vacuum if it has been  
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped in water.  
6. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull  
cord around sharp edges or corners.  
7. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.  
8. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, and gently  
remove from outlet.  
9. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.  
10. Do not put any object into the suction intake opening that would block it. Do  
not use with any opening or air intake area blocked. Keep free of dust, lint, hair  
and anything else that may reduce the airflow.  
11. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings  
and moving parts.  
12. Do not vacuum anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes,  
matches, or hot ashes.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS  
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, this  
appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than  
the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.  
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug, if it  
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a proper  
outlet. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.  
13. Turn the vacuum to the “Off” position before unplugging.  
14. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.  
15. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline  
or use in areas where they may be present.  
16. Look on your vacuum and follow all instructions printed on the machine.  
17. This unit is designed for pick up of dry matter. Do not attempt to vacuum  
liquids of any type or moist materials as this could create a situation that  
electrical shock could occur.  
18. Use only extension cords UL or cUL-rated at 15 amperes. Extension  
cords rated less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to  
arrange the cord so that the cord cannot be accidentally pulled or tripped  
over.  
19. Keep the end of hose wands and other openings away from your face  
and body.  
20. Do not use the vacuum cleaner without dust cup and filter in place.  
21. Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting the  
vacuum hose.  
22. Store the vacuum and its attachments indoors in a dry location.  
23. Using improper voltage may result in damage to the motor and possible  
injury to the user. Correct voltage is listed on the rating label.  
24. Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.  
25. Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user’s guide.

ASSEMBLY  
WARNING:  
Always unplug from electrical outlet before opening the dust cup.  
Note: The dust cup filter (7) must be properly installed when operating the  
vacuum cleaner.  
A. Removing the Dust Cup and Filter.  
To open the dust cup (6), push the release button (2) and remove the  
dust cup (6). Verify that the dust cup filter (7) is in its proper position;  
then attach the dust cup (6) to the vacuum.  
B. Attaching Shoulder Strap. (Optional)  
To use the vacuum with the shoulder strap (11), attach it to the proper  
holes (5) as shown below.  
C. Attaching Accessories.  
To attach the dust brush (9) or crevice tool (10) to the vacuum,  
push attachment into intake hole (3), as shown below.  
D. Attaching the Hose.  
To use the hose, (8) push the end of the hose into the intake hole (3),  
and then attach the desired attachment (9 or 10) to the other end of the  
hose (8).

EMPTYING THE DUST CUP  
1. Remove dust cup (6) and dust cup filter (7).  
2. Empty the dust cup (6).  
3. Empty the dust and dirt from the Dust Cup (6).  
4. Shake loose any build up on the filter before installing it to its  
proper position.  
5. Attach the dust cup (6) and dust cup filter (7), and continue  
cleaning.  
CAUTION: Make sure that you hold the handle firmly, if not it could  
slip out of your hand and cause an injury.  
CHANGING & CLEANING FILTER  
If the dust cup filter (7) becomes clogged, perform the following procedure:  
1. Remove the dust cup (6) and dust cup filter (7).  
2. Empty the dust cup (6) and rinse the dust cup filter (7) in clean water.  
3. Allow the dust cup filter (7) to dry.  
4. When dry, replace the dust cup filter (7) and the dust cup (6).  
The unit is now safe and ready to perform at maximum capacity.
